Technical Skills

• Strong experience in ETL testing and database testing using SQL.
• Proficiency in playwright is mandatory.
• Hands‑on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium or equivalent automation frameworks).
• Clarification: This role is primarily focused on ETL and data automation rather than UI automation. JD references tools like Selenium to indicate familiarity with automation frameworks, the core automation focus is on validating data pipelines, transformations, and downstream data outputs, not front-end UI testing. UI automation experience is considered adjacent and beneficial, but not the primary responsibility of the role.
• The expected automation include- Advanced SQL based automation such as validation of joins, aggregations, calculations, and historical loads, Source to target reconciliation and row count/ data quality checks; Scripting for data validation is preferred.
• Python or similar scripting for data comparison, regression checks, and automation orchestration; any framework or custom solution used to automate data validation across pipelines; validation across staging, warehouse, and downstream marts with Azure based data environments (cloud) exposure.
• Again, Selenium or equivalent tools are referenced as an indicator of automation mindset, not as a requirement for UI test creation in this role.
• The expectation is hands‑on and senior‑level ownership of ETL test automation to:
• Design and develop automated ETL/data test scripts
• Enhance and maintain existing automation suites
• Execute automated and manual ETL tests as needed
• Analyse results, identify data issues, and perform root‑cause analysis
• Clearly document defects and collaborate with data engineers and stakeholders
• The candidate should be comfortable building, improving, and owning ETL/ data test automation while executing manual testing for complex business scenarios.
• Experience validating large‑scale datasets in data warehouses or analytical platforms.
• Exposure to Azure or cloud‑based data environments.
• Familiarity with test management tools and defect tracking systems.
