Role :- Senior Test Engineer (ETL Test Engineer)
Expereince : 5 to 8 Years

Role Summary
ETL Test Engineer is accountable for the validation and verification of Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) pipelines, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and integrity across source and target systems. The incumbent collaborates with data engineers, business analysts, and QA lead to design and execute test strategies for data movement and transformation workflows, in adherence to the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain ETL Test Plans covering scope, objectives, entry/exit criteria, risk assessment, and resource planning.
• Define and implement test strategies for full load, incremental load, delta load, and rejection testing scenarios.
• Log, track, and manage defects through their complete lifecycle using tools such as Jira or ALM.
• Perform re-testing and regression testing following defect fixes to confirm resolution integrity.
• Author and deliver Test Summary Reports encompassing pass/fail metrics and test coverage statistics for stakeholder review.
• Actively participate in test closure signoffs and provide User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience in testing with a focus on ETL or data warehousing projects.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for data validation purposes.
• Good Exposure to the stored procedures and build run
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools including AWS Glue, Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift, Apache Airflow, and AWS Lambda, or similar technologies.
• Working knowledge of relational database platforms including Oracle, SQL Server, and pgAdmin.
• Good exposure to python automation
• Proven ability to author and maintain Test Plans, Test Cases, and Defect Reports.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts including staging, ODS, dimension and fact tables, and SCD types.
• Hands-on experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira or ALM.
• Thorough understanding of STLC phases and QA methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within Agile methodology frameworks, including Scrum and Kanban, with experience participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
• Exceptionally detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communicator with the ability to articulate data discrepancies clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
• Collaborative team player who consistently upholds a quality-first mindset.
