Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to be an integral part of the Ethics function (part of the firm’s Quality & Risk Management team) and work towards embedding the culture of quality, ethics, and independence within Forvis Mazars.
Job Role
- Queries & Consultations: Responding to a variety of ethics and independence queries from partners and members of staff from across the firm, requesting additional information, and/or consulting with others when required to resolve.
- Monitoring: Performing ethics and independence related monitoring per the annual monitoring plan.
- Regulatory: Assisting the leadership in the Ethics function in responding to regulatory queries and inspections.
- Strategy: Supporting the leadership in the Ethics function in the design and implementation of systems, controls, and processes.
- Training: Developing and presenting training on key ethics and independence matters to members of staff.
- Other: Performing other tasks, as necessary, to support the Ethics function.
Experience: (2 - 4 ) years
Person Specification
- Relevant experience in a similar position with some experience of ethics and independence rules in an audit/accountancy firm
- Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of commercial / client-facing issues, empathy with fee earning teams who the Ethics and Independence team support.
- Self-sufficient and pro-active with a drive to continue developing subject matter knowledge.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, who works well within a team environment, developing and maintaining relationships within the team and wider firm.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and oral.
- Logical thinker with strong attention to detail.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Strong IT skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
