Position Summary
Responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities, and pricing for construction and engineering projects. Analyzes project requirements and specifications to develop competitive and profitable bids.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects based on drawings and specifications
- Develop bills of quantities (BOQ) and material take-offs
- Analyze tender documents, scope of work, and project requirements
- Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Calculate labor, material, equipment, and overhead costs
- Prepare bid proposals and pricing sheets for submission
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals
- Coordinate with engineering and project teams for technical input
- Maintain database of costs, rates, and pricing information
- Support project teams with cost analysis and budget preparation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in estimation for construction projects
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods
- Proficiency in estimation software and MS Office (especially Excel)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience in EPC or construction bidding preferred
- Experience in Aramco / SABIC projects is an advantage
