Role Description The Estimation Engineer/ QS (MEP) is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. The role involves preparing detailed estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works based on drawings, specifications, and tender documents. Daily tasks include analyzing project requirements, performing quantity take-offs, validating cost inputs, and coordinating with project managers and design teams to ensure accurate and timely submissions. The Estimation Engineer/ QS (MEP) will participate in bid preparation, support negotiation with vendors and contractors, and update cost databases and estimation templates. The role also entails conducting market and technical research, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and providing estimation support throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Should have experience of 2-6 years.
- Candidates should possess strong BOQ preparation and project estimation skills for MEP works, with the ability to interpret drawings and technical specifications.
- Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Civil Engineering or related engineering disciplines, with understanding of construction processes and building services.
- Candidates should possess effective negotiation skills for coordinating with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to achieve competitive and realistic pricing.
- Candidates should possess research skills to gather market rates, benchmark costs, and stay updated on materials, technologies, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in estimation and quantity surveying software (e.g., Excel, AutoCAD, or specialized QS tools) is beneficial.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) or Quantity Surveying is preferred.
- Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and capability to work within tight deadlines in a collaborative environment are expected.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams are important.
