Role Description
The Estimation & Costing Manager will be responsible for preparing and reviewing cost estimations and quotations for air filtration products and solutions. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing project requirements, developing detailed cost estimates, preparing budgets, and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate and timely quotations. Other key responsibilities include improving cost estimation processes, maintaining pricing databases, and supporting project decision-making with financial insights. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Lead preparation of detailed cost estimates for Pre, Fine, EPA, and HEPA air filters.
- Review BOQs, cost break-ups, and rate analyses prepared by the team.
- Analyze drawings, technical specifications, and customer requirements.
- Evaluate costs for raw materials, labor, testing, packaging, logistics, and site services.
- Ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability of all quotations.
- Lead and mentor the estimation team.
- Allocate projects and monitor workload and timelines.
- Review and approve estimates before submission.
- Develop standard costing templates and estimation procedures.
- Train team members on product knowledge, costing methods, and tools.
- Lead techno-commercial proposal preparation.
- Participate in negotiations with customers and consultants.
- Prepare comparison statements and value-engineering options.
- Support contract reviews and order finalization.
- Coordinate with Sales, Design, Production, Procurement, and Quality teams.
- Liaise with vendors for material pricing and technical inputs.
- Provide cost inputs during product development or customization.
- Develop and maintain cost databases.
- Track market trends for materials and logistics.
- Identify cost-reduction and value-engineering opportunities.
- Support budgeting and margin analysis.
- Maintain estimation records and documentation.
- Prepare MIS reports on order value, margins, and win-loss analysis.
- Support management with cost insights and forecasts.
Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum Experience:
- 10–12 years of experience in estimation, costing, or commercial roles.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a team-leading or supervisory role.
Relevant/Additional Experience:
- Air filters, cleanroom systems, HVAC, or related manufacturing.
- Knowledge of ISO 16890 and ISO 29463 / EN 1822 standards.
- Ability to read GA drawings and HVAC schematics.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel (advanced formulas, costing models).
- ERP or costing software exposure preferred.
