We’re seeking a Senior Customer Success Consultant to take on the role of presales lead for our Defence and National Security customers. This is an exciting opportunity to engage directly in this dynamic and rapidly evolving sector, while helping to shape the future of presales. As part of our close-knit and supportive Pre-Sales team, you’ll work alongside the broader Defence Practice, collaborating with Sales and Professional Services as part of a virtual team. The Position

As a Customer Success Consultant (Defence), your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical guidance and delivering demonstrations of ArcGIS software and data to support the sales team in the Defence sector.
  • Deliver customer success with both new and existing clients within the Defence sector by leveraging your in-depth knowledge of ArcGIS and its industry applications.
  • Collaborating with account managers to identify how Esri technology, data, and services can address real-world problems.
  • Assisting in identifying and progressing sales opportunities by understanding customer needs, and presenting relevant ArcGIS software and data solutions.
  • Supporting marketing campaigns and events, articulating the value of working with ArcGIS through webinars, conferences, and written materials.
  • Mentoring and overseeing Graduates and other team members in the delivery of pre-sales activities.
  • Providing technical expertise and support to the wider pre-sales team.

  • Are seeking a customer-facing role where you can showcase your expertise in ArcGIS and its application to solving real-world problems in the defence sector. You should also have:
  • A strong working knowledge of the ArcGIS system (including ArcGIS Online, Enterprise, Web Apps, Mobile Apps, ArcGIS Pro, and extensions) along with supporting data (such as the Living Atlas and premium data), and a keen interest in GIS applications and industry trends.
  • Have confidence in working with both new and existing customers.
  • Are able to effectively communicate the business benefits of using the ArcGIS platform and demonstrate how it solves business challenges.
  • Can build strong professional relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Possess excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Are well-organised and able to work collaboratively within a team or independently.
  • Are flexible, able to manage your time effectively, and respond to short-notice assignments.
  • Have an understanding of the sales cycle and how Esri UK operates as a business.
  • Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Desirable: A full UK driving licence.
  • Essential: Willingness to travel and stay overnight within the UK.
  • Clearance: This role requires the successful candidate to b eligible and happy to obtain SC and DV clearances.


Location – Home or Office Based with travel to face to face meetings and customer sites
