Interns at Esri work on challenging projects with experienced team members throughout the company. Who's Eligible? Summer internships are open to both undergraduate and graduate students who are graduating this semester or will be returning to school in the fall. Being Paid Is Just One of the Perks Each internship is a full-time, paid position with salaries comparable to other software development companies. Other great perks include- Up to Twelve-week program with flexible start dates Free software training courses Responsibilities Esri interns contribute to real projects and are mentored by team members along the way. Some of our technically-oriented interns have worked on a wide range of exciting projects such as: Research state of the art methods or approaches that can be used to improve the software or solve a new problem Help design, test, and document new functionality in ArcGIS products Develop use cases that show the value of spatial analysis in solving important problems that we face as a society Write blog posts or learn lessons that explain how to use ArcGIS to accomplish a well-defined goal Be part of building the world's leading GIS software from the ground up Requirements Basic knowledge of GIS and remote sensing Excellent test engineering and problem-solving skills Strong development skills using Java, C#, or Python Desire and ability to learn new skills and contribute to producing quality commercial software Recommended Qualifications Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Experience with JUnit, CppUnit, Selenium, or other testing frameworks Experience with remote sensing and image processing Familiarity with raster and imagery data formats
