Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role for an eSports Journalist based in New Delhi, with some flexibility for remote work. The eSports Journalist will cover breaking news, match results, player stories, and industry developments across esports titles and the wider gaming landscape. Daily responsibilities include researching and pitching story ideas, writing news articles and features, preparing press releases, and coordinating with editorial and social media teams to publish timely, accurate content. The role also involves on-ground event coverage, interviews with players and stakeholders, and occasional broadcasting or hosting segments for TGN’s digital channels. The ideal candidate will help shape TGN’s editorial voice while engaging the gaming community through clear, compelling, and informed storytelling.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Writing and News Writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging, and accurate esports and gaming coverage.
- Candidates should possess solid Research skills to verify information, track industry trends, and develop well-informed stories and analysis.
- Candidates should possess experience creating and managing Press Releases for events, partnerships, and major announcements.
- Candidates should possess Broadcasting skills, including comfort with on-camera presentation, live coverage, or podcast and stream appearances.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English; familiarity with Indian gaming and esports titles, teams, and events.
- Ability to work to deadlines, collaborate with cross-functional content teams, and adapt to a fast-paced digital media environment.
- Prior experience in journalism, esports reporting, or digital content creation is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
