Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Data Modeller with deep hands-on experience in Erwin Data Modeler and enterprise data architecture to support large-scale, government or enterprise-wide data initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models, implementing data governance frameworks, and ensuring model alignment with enterprise data strategy and business needs.

Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models using Erwin Data Modeler.

- Establish and enforce data modeling standards, conventions, and best practices across projects and entities.

- Administer Erwin environments - including Mart Server, Mart Portal, and Erwin Data Intelligence Suite (360).

- Support and guide project teams on data modeling design, optimization, and version control.

- Conduct data discovery and profiling to identify data sources, structures, and data quality issues.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements, key entities, and relationships.

- Implement data lineage, metadata management, and integration between Erwin and data governance/catalog tools.

- Define and document data dictionaries, entity definitions, and naming standards.

- Implement and maintain change management and impact analysis for model updates across dependent systems.

- Work closely with data engineers to translate logical models into efficient physical schemas for cloud data platforms.

- Ensure data security and access control design aligns with organizational data governance policies.

- Participate in data integration and ETL/ELT design discussions, ensuring alignment with modeling principles.

- Provide training and mentoring to data modeling and data management teams on Erwin usage and data modeling best practices.

Key Skills & Requirements:

- 7+ years of experience in data modeling, data architecture, or enterprise data management.

- Strong expertise in Erwin Data Modeler (v12 or later) - including Mart Server, Mart Portal, and model repository management.

- Proven experience designing conceptual, logical, and physical models for large-scale or multi-entity environments.

- Deep understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data lineage concepts.

- Experience integrating Erwin with governance or catalog tools (e.g., Databricks Unity Catalog, Informatica, Collibra, or similar).

- Knowledge of SQL, ETL/ELT processes, and database optimization techniques (partitioning, indexing, pre-aggregation).

- Strong communication and documentation skills for engaging both technical and business stakeholders.

- Familiarity with data quality frameworks, change management workflows, and metadata documentation.
