Equity Research Analyst, U.S. Equities (AI)
Market Sentiment is hiring an Equity Research Analyst to cover U.S. companies across the AI trade. You'll build institutional-quality models, publish decision-ready research, and work directly with the founder on high-conviction calls in a live portfolio. Our research reaches 50,000+ readers, so your work is public, attributable, and judged on whether it's right.
Location & hours: Bengaluru. Full-time in-office for the first 3 months, hybrid after. Hours are 11 AM to 9 PM IST, which covers the U.S. market open.
What you'll do
- Own coverage. Cover a rolling list of U.S. equities across the AI supply chain. Know each name well enough to defend a view on it at any time.
- Build the models. Build full three-statement models, DCF and comps, and line-by-line breakdowns of 10-Ks and 10-Qs.
- Publish fast and deep. Write short notes within 12–24 hours of an earnings print or major event, and monthly deep dives. Every piece separates fact, analysis, and inference.
- Run the watchlist. Maintain the AI watchlist with traffic-light status, KPI trackers, and beat/miss setups ahead of every print.
- Build leverage. Pull and clean data, build repeatable screens, and automate anything you do twice.
- Contribute independent judgment. Take positions, defend variant views with evidence, and state what would change your mind.
Must-have qualifications:
- 3+ years in equity research
- Exceptional financial and valuation modeling skills
- Deep grasp of U.S. GAAP, SEC filings, revenue recognition nuances
- Crisp writing with evidence-based reasoning; comfortable defending a variant view.
- Thrives in a fast, feedback-heavy environment.
- CA, CFA Level 3, MBA, or investment banking experience.
Your work sample will carry more weight than your resume.
Compensation and growth:
