Senior Machine Learning Ops Engineer- Remote First

We’re looking for ML Ops Engineers with proven senior-level experience to join the Equal Experts

Equal Experts ML Ops Engineers are passionate about machine learning, data engineering and software development. The remit as an Equal Experts consultant includes advising clients on all of the ML platform capabilities for training, deploying, evaluating and tuning ML models and features, including associated data pipelines.

This role involves working in teams that use modern agile technical practices - including continuous integration and deployment and fast feedback loops - to deliver timely and pragmatic solutions, as well as helping others to do their jobs in a more effective way.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with clients to understand their ML model deployment and operationalization needs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
• Develop and maintain scalable and reliable ML pipelines for model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Deploy trained ML models into production environments, utilizing best practices for scalability, reliability, and security.
• Advocate for ML Ops best practices within the organization, promoting principles such as reproducibility, version control, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) for ML workflows.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members on ML Ops principles, tools, and techniques. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement to enhance the team's ML engineering capabilities.
• Ensure that ML systems comply with security standards and regulatory requirements.
• Implement measures for data privacy, access control, and model explainability to mitigate risks
• and maintain trustworthiness.

Required Skills

• Experience in working with data and ML engineering, and familiarity with building ML Ops on cloud solutions including (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Knowledge of the best practices in building, deploying and operating production ML workloads, inc. training, prediction/generation and feature engineering. Experience in teams delivering production ML use-cases.
• Vision for what great ML platform capabilities look like. Bonus points if you've been involved in deploying ML platforms at scale before.
• Familiarity with software architecture in a cloud environment ideally including data lakes, ML platforms, feature stores and microservice architecture.
• Experience working with a programming language such as, Python, Scala, .NET or Java.
• Ability to engage and contribute technical discussions with engineers and stakeholders.
• Understanding and being able to communicate with data engineering or business intelligence teams - Explaining data requirements and being able to participate or communicate in ML Ops environment.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively while working remotely with globally distributed teams.
