JOB SUMMARY
The Organizational Training &
Development Specialist is responsible for implementing and managing
comprehensive organizational development initiatives to enhance overall
organizational performance and employee engagement. This role involves
designing and delivering training programs, leading change management efforts,
and evaluating the effectiveness of development programs to align with company
goals.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate closely with Human Resources and
various departments to understand organizational goals and employee development
needs. Conduct needs assessments through surveys, interviews, and focus groups
to gather data on training requirements and develop comprehensive training
strategies.
- Administer and interpret assessments (MBTI,
DISC, Hartman) to determine employee strengths, weaknesses, and developmental
needs. Provide feedback sessions to employees and teams to discuss assessment
results and implications for personal and professional growth. Perform regular
skills gap analyses using performance reviews, employee surveys, and other
tools to identify areas where employees need additional skills or knowledge.
Develop customized training plans based on these analyses.
- Design, develop, and deliver impactful and
comprehensive training programs to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and
competencies. Use various instructional methods, including workshops,
e-learning, and simulations.
- Develop and implement leadership development
programs to cultivate high-performing leaders. Provide coaching and mentoring
to emerging leaders.
- Develop and execute Organizational Development
strategies aligned with the company's business objectives. Conduct
organizational assessments to identify development needs and opportunities.
- Analyze data to measure the impact of
Organizational Development initiatives and provide insights to inform
decision-making. Develop and present reports on metrics and outcomes.
- Identify and vet external training vendors and
consultants, managing contracts and relationships to ensure the timely and
effective delivery of training programs.
- Collaborate with instructional designers to
develop technology-based learning solutions, ensuring courseware is
interactive, accessible, and effective.
- Offer individual career counseling and
development planning sessions and conduct workshops on career development
topics such as resume writing, interview skills, and career pathing.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and
innovations in adult learning, training, and development. Research industry’s
best practices and provide regular reports and recommendations to senior
management.
- Identify and implement appropriate skill
assessments for various training programs. Manage the certification process for
employees completing training programs.
- Monitor and report on the progress of education,
training, and development initiatives using metrics and feedback to evaluate
program effectiveness.
- Handle sensitive information with discretion,
work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment, and approach tasks
with a service-oriented mindset.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources,
Organizational Development, or development-related field.
- 4-7 years of leadership experience in training,
organizational development, and employee development with proven success.
- Knowledge of principles, methods, and diversity,
equity, and inclusion work tools.
- Demonstrated cross-cultural competencies,
including strong emotional intelligence and the ability to engage and build
relationships.
- Extensive expertise in assessing, designing,
developing, and delivering training and development plans and programs.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems
preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS & OTHER
REQUIREMENTS
- Certified with several training and development
organizations to deliver leadership and management development programs
preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication
skills, including proven ability to build strong working relationships with all
levels within the organization, is essential, and ability to work in a
fast-paced, changing environment.
- Applies good judgment in interpersonal
relationships.
- Strong facilitation, analytic, time management,
and project management skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.

EPB provides electric and
communications services, which are considered critical infrastructure by the
Department of Homeland Security. This EPB job is essential to support this
critical infrastructure and may be required to work onsite or in the field to
maintain these services.
