Job Summary:
The Environment Management Head will be responsible for leading and managing all environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, pollution control systems, and statutory requirements within the pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The role ensures adherence to environmental laws, regulatory standards, and corporate environment policies while promoting sustainable and eco-friendly operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Environmental Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations.
- Liaise with Pollution Control Board and other statutory authorities for approvals, renewals, audits, and inspections.
- Maintain all environmental records, licenses, consents, and statutory documentation.
Waste Management:
- Oversee hazardous waste handling, storage, transportation, and disposal activities.
- Monitor solid waste, biomedical waste, chemical waste, and effluent disposal processes.
- Ensure compliance with waste management rules and sustainability practices.
Effluent Treatment & Utilities:
- Monitor and manage ETP/STP operations and environmental monitoring systems.
- Ensure proper functioning of pollution control equipment and emission control systems.
- Optimize water conservation and waste minimization initiatives.
Environmental Monitoring:
- Conduct periodic environmental audits and risk assessments.
- Monitor air emissions, water quality, noise levels, and environmental performance indicators.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions for non-compliances.
Sustainability & Improvement:
- Drive sustainability programs related to energy conservation, water management, and green initiatives.
- Promote environmental awareness and training programs across the organization.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and environmental impact reduction.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare environmental reports, MIS data, and compliance dashboards.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits and inspections.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory environmental reports.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Environmental Science
- Master’s Degree or Diploma in Environmental Management preferred
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of environmental laws and pharmaceutical industry regulations
- Expertise in ETP/STP operations and hazardous waste management
- Experience in handling regulatory audits and statutory inspections
- Good leadership, analytical, and communication skills
- Proficiency in environmental monitoring and sustainability initiatives
