Role Description The Environmental Health Safety Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in the Pune District. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS programs, policies, and procedures that ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment. Day-to-day activities include conducting workplace inspections and risk assessments, identifying hazards, and recommending corrective and preventive actions. The specialist will coordinate and deliver safety training, promote safety awareness, and support incident reporting, investigation, and documentation. This role also involves monitoring compliance with relevant EHS regulations and company standards, maintaining accurate EHS records, collaborating with cross-functional teams (including operations, facilities, and HR), and supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in Environment Health and Safety (EHS) and Health & Safety standards, including applicable regulations and best practices.
- Experience in Occupational Health and Workplace Safety, including risk assessment, hazard identification, and implementation of control measures.
- Ability to design, deliver, and evaluate Safety Training programs for diverse teams and roles.
- Proven skills in incident reporting, root-cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action planning.
- Familiarity with EHS documentation, audits, inspections, and compliance reporting.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills to promote a safety-first culture.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple EHS initiatives in a fast-paced technology environment.
- Relevant degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, Engineering, or a related field; recognized EHS certifications are an advantage.
- Prior experience in an office, R&D, or technology/engineering environment is preferred.
