Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Environmental Health Safety (EHS) Specialist role based in Kolkata. The EHS Specialist will develop, implement, and monitor environmental, health, and safety programs aligned with company policies and applicable regulations. Responsibilities include conducting workplace inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations, as well as maintaining safety documentation and compliance records. The role will deliver safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for team members at all levels. The EHS Specialist will collaborate with operations and management to identify hazards, recommend controls, track corrective actions, and promote a strong safety culture across all facility and field activities.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Environment Health and Safety (EHS) frameworks, including Health & Safety and Occupational Health practices.
- Experience implementing Workplace Safety programs, including hazard identification, risk assessments, and incident reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver Safety Training, safety meetings, and awareness campaigns for diverse teams.
- Familiarity with relevant local and international EHS regulations and standards; ability to interpret and apply them in daily operations.
- Proven skills in data collection, analysis, and reporting related to safety metrics, audits, and corrective actions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence safe behaviors and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) are an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site daily in Kolkata, manage multiple priorities, and respond promptly to safety concerns or incidents.
