Duties & responsibilities
What This Job Involves
The Environment & Sustainability Manager is a key member of JLL’s IFM team, responsible for driving environmental performance, sustainability strategy, and data-led insights across the client’s Asia portfolio. This role combines technical expertise, data analytics, stakeholder management, and program delivery across energy, emissions, water, waste, and ESG initiatives.
Key Responsibilities - Environmental Data Management & Reporting
- Manage utility data (energy, gas, water, waste) including validation and reporting.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports including carbon emissions.
- Maintain sustainability data management platforms.
Energy & Environmental Performance Optimization
- Analyze energy and utility data to identify efficiency opportunities.
- Implement programs to reduce energy, water, and waste consumption.
- Monitor KPIs and sustainability benchmarks.
- Resolve utility billing discrepancies.
Sustainability Strategy & Program Development
- Develop sustainable FM programs and carbon reduction initiatives.
- Support smart building strategies and digital platforms.
- Prepare business cases for sustainability projects.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Compliance, Standards & Certifications
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Support ISO 14001 and lifecycle assessment frameworks.
- Assist in green building certifications (LEED, WELL, GRIHA).
- Align with ESG, GRESB, and UN SDG frameworks.
Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
- Collaborate with clients, site teams, and consultants.
- Drive sustainability awareness and engagement.
- Provide guidance to achieve sustainability goals.
Performance Objectives
- Deliver accurate and timely environmental reporting.
- Provide actionable insights from data analysis.
- Improve resource efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
- Enhance stakeholder engagement and sustainability adoption.
Experience And Qualification
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Sustainability or related field are desirable but not mandatory. Demonstrable experience within a similar role will be well regarded.
- 5-10 years of proven experience working in corporate sustainability, government or sustainability consulting within complex operating environments.
- Certifications like LEED, WELL, GRIHA etc., are desirable.
- Exposure to international frameworks like GRESB, ESG, UNSGD etc., is desirable.
- A demonstrated aptitude for the interpretation and analysis of numerical data; preferably in an energy, emissions or utility context with an understanding of how they relate to the property and building management.
- The ability to extract and analyse data into clear and logical reports with particular attention to detail.
- Proficient in the use of the MS Office product suite including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook, particularly Excel with knowledge of pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas, etc.
- Engaging and passionate about sustainability with the desire to make a difference.
- Able to problem solve and think strategically.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and a strong ability to engage with a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize workload in a high pressure, deadline-driven work environment.
- Listens effectively and communicates through action and example.
- A keen eye for detail.
- Promotes open, constructive and collaborative relations with colleagues and clients.
