Role Overview
We are looking for a sharp and hands-on EHS Lead to manage Environment, Health and Safety activities at our recycling and resource recovery facility.
The role will cover plant safety, environmental compliance, ISO certifications, fire safety, emergency preparedness, audits, training and statutory documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor EHS policies, procedures and safe work practices.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, occupational health, factory and fire safety requirements.
- Lead ISO 9001, 14001, ISO 45001 and other applicable certifications.
- Maintain statutory approvals, compliance registers, returns and records.
- Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, audits and incident investigations.
- Organise fire drills, evacuation drills, toolbox talks and safety training.
- Monitor firefighting systems, emergency exits, PPE and safety equipment.
- Manage hazardous waste, effluent, emissions and environmental monitoring.
- Implement permit-to-work systems for high-risk activities.
- Coordinate with authorities, auditors, consultants and certification bodies.
- Prepare EHS reports and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
Qualification and Experience
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety or a related field.
- Diploma or certification in Industrial Safety or Fire and Safety preferred.
- 3–5 years of relevant EHS experience in manufacturing, recycling, waste management, metals, chemicals or process industries.
- Strong knowledge of plant safety, statutory compliance, fire safety and environmental requirements.
- Experience in ISO 9001, 14001 and ISO 45001 implementation and audits will be preferred.
- Candidates with lesser experience may also be considered if they demonstrate strong technical knowledge, practical exposure and the ability to independently handle the EHS function.
- Fluency in English, Hindi and Telugu will be an advantage.
The candidate should be proactive, knowledgeable and comfortable working closely with plant operations and employees on the shop floor.
