Role Description: This is a full-time remote role for an Entry Level Environmental Scientist/GIS Specialist. The role involves supporting environmental projects through data collection, analysis, and preparation of maps and figures using GIS software. Daily tasks may include assisting with environmental impact assessments, organizing and interpreting field data, contributing to technical reports, and collaborating with senior staff on project planning and implementation. The specialist will help review regulatory documents, prepare project documentation, and maintain accurate GIS databases and spatial data. The role also includes remote coordination with project teams and clients to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
Qualifications
- Environmental Science and Environmental Impact Assessment skills, with the ability to interpret environmental data and support project evaluations.
- Environmental Consulting awareness, including understanding of client needs, regulatory considerations, and preparation of clear, concise project documentation.
- Proficiency with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) for mapping, spatial analysis, and data management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geography, Geology, Ecology, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and written communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with regional environmental regulations (New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York) and experience with environmental field methods are a plus.
