Jital Solutions is a B2B company specializing in producing sustainable, insect-based protein ingredients derived from Black Soldier Fly Larvae (BSFL). We supply high-performance ingredients such as BSFL Meal, BSF Oil, and Dried Larvae to feed manufacturers, aquafeed producers, poultry integrators, and pet food formulators.
We are looking for a passionate Entomologist – BSF Breeding to lead end-to-end egg-to-egg Black Soldier Fly production. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of insect biology, mass rearing, and applied research in a fast-growing insect biotechnology space.
🔬 Key Responsibilities
✔️ Handle complete BSF life cycle management (egg → egg)
✔️ Manage and optimize adult mating, oviposition & egg production
✔️ Lead conventional breeding programs for productivity improvement
✔️ Apply molecular & experimental approaches for colony performance monitoring
✔️ Develop & standardize SOPs for BSF breeding and scale-up
✔️ Ensure colony health, biosecurity & quality control
✔️ Maintain experimental records and prepare technical reports
✔️ Train and guide technical staff in breeding operations
🎓 Qualifications
✅ Ph.D. in Entomology / Agricultural Entomology / Insect Science / Applied Biology
✅ 0-1 year experience for Ph.D and 2-5 years experience for M.Sc. in:
Insect mass rearing or
Biocontrol agent production
🧠 Preferred Skills
🔹 Experience with Black Soldier Fly or other dipteran insects
🔹 Knowledge of insect reproduction & behavior
🔹 Exposure to basic molecular techniques (DNA extraction, PCR, strain monitoring)
🔹 Hands-on experience in controlled environment rearing systems
