Job Description: Enterprise APM & Technology Optimization Consultant
We are looking for an Enterprise Technology Optimization Consultant who can operate as a strategic technology transformation partner—driving enterprise observability initiatives, operational intelligence programs, technology rationalization efforts, and telemetry-driven optimization engagements across large enterprise ecosystems.
This is a senior consulting and client-facing role requiring strong expertise in Application Performance Monitoring (APM), operational telemetry, cloud and infrastructure observability, enterprise governance, and technology portfolio optimization. The individual will work closely with CIO organizations and enterprise technology leaders to identify operational inefficiencies, improve resiliency, optimize technology spend, and support strategic transformation initiatives.
The ideal candidate should be capable of bridging technical observability platforms with enterprise-level operational excellence and governance objectives while supporting measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Enterprise Observability & APM Transformation
- Design and implement enterprise-wide APM and observability frameworks across applications, infrastructure, cloud, and digital platforms
- Analyze application telemetry, infrastructure metrics, usage analytics, and operational data to identify optimization opportunities
- Develop operational intelligence dashboards, KPI frameworks, and telemetry-driven reporting models
- Enable proactive monitoring, incident analysis, root cause identification, and resiliency improvement initiatives
- Support enterprise-wide operational excellence programs through data-driven insights
2. Technology Rationalization & Optimization
- Support technology portfolio rationalization initiatives using telemetry-driven insights and usage analytics
- Identify redundant, underutilized, high-risk, or high-cost applications and platforms
- Drive recommendations for application modernization, consolidation, retirement, or cloud optimization
- Support cloud utilization analysis, FinOps optimization, and infrastructure rightsizing initiatives
- Collaborate with enterprise architecture and governance teams to align platforms with target-state technology standards
3. Governance, Strategy & Operational Excellence
- Support enterprise governance councils and operational transformation initiatives through observability and analytics frameworks
- Define governance metrics across reliability, resiliency, operational efficiency, technology debt, and execution velocity
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, IAM, enterprise applications, digital workplace, and cloud operations teams
- Support technology investment prioritization using operational telemetry and business impact insights
- Drive strategic recommendations to improve operational maturity and enterprise technology effectiveness
4. Stakeholder & Client Management
- Engage with senior technology stakeholders including CIO organizations, enterprise operations teams, and governance leaders
- Facilitate strategic discussions, operational reviews, and transformation workshops
- Translate business priorities into telemetry-driven operational improvement opportunities
- Support proposal development, consulting assessments, and strategic transformation engagements
- Present operational insights and recommendations to leadership stakeholders
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- 8–12 years of experience in enterprise technology operations, observability, infrastructure engineering, cloud operations, enterprise architecture, or technology consulting
- Strong expertise in Application Performance Monitoring (APM) and enterprise observability platforms
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Dynatrace, Datadog, AppDynamics, Splunk, New Relic, Azure Monitor, Grafana, or Elastic Stack
- Strong understanding of operational telemetry, log analytics, infrastructure monitoring, cloud observability, and operational KPI frameworks
- Experience in cloud platforms and infrastructure operations (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Strong understanding of enterprise application ecosystems, IT operations, and digital platform architecture
- Experience in technology rationalization, operational governance, or enterprise transformation initiatives
- Strong communication skills with ability to engage executive and technical stakeholders
- Ability to balance strategic consulting with practical implementation and operational execution
- Strong understanding of operational excellence, resiliency, governance, and technology optimization frameworks
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience in FinOps, cloud cost optimization, or infrastructure rightsizing initiatives
- Exposure to enterprise technology governance models and portfolio rationalization frameworks
- Experience supporting CIO organizations or large enterprise transformation programs
- Familiarity with ITSM, DevOps, SRE, or SDLC observability frameworks
- Experience in digital workplace analytics, user experience monitoring, or service intelligence
- Exposure to enterprise IAM, cybersecurity telemetry, or governance analytics
- PMP, ITIL, Agile, TOGAF, FinOps, or cloud certifications preferred
- Consulting background with experience in operational transformation and executive stakeholder management
- Experience working across multi-vendor and enterprise-scale technology environments
- Exposure to AI-driven operational analytics or intelligent observability platforms preferred
