We are seeking a results-driven R&D Project Manager with a strong engineering foundation to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of AI-powered tools and platforms within Keysight’s R&D organization. In this role, you will manage multiple concurrent projects spanning machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI—partnering closely with cross-functional teams of data scientists, software engineers, domain experts, and product managers. You will own the project lifecycle from inception through deployment, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and alignment with strategic objectives in a complex, fast-paced technology environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project management for AI/ML tools and their development initiatives, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
- Manage a portfolio of 3–5+ concurrent R&D projects with varying complexity, scope, and timelines—tracking milestones, dependencies, and deliverables across teams.
- Partner with engineering leads, data scientists, and product managers to define project scope, technical requirements, resource needs, and acceptance criteria.
- Drive Agile/Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, backlog grooming) and continuously improve team velocity and process efficiency.
- Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate technical, resource, and schedule risks—escalating to leadership when appropriate with clear options and recommendations.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between R&D, product management, UX, QA, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities and deliverables.
- Track and report project health, KPIs, and status to senior leadership through dashboards, executive summaries, and steering committee presentations.
- Champion engineering best practices including CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, automated testing, and documentation standards within the AI tools team.
- Manage data availability, quality, and governance requirements in coordination with data engineering and compliance teams.
- Stay current on AI/ML industry trends, tools, and project management methodologies to continuously bring fresh perspectives and innovations to the team.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, AI/ML, or MBA with a technology focus.
- Hands-on familiarity with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience managing projects involving generative AI, large language models, or AI-powered test/design automation.
- Background in electronic design automation (EDA), test & measurement, or semiconductor industries.
- PMP, PMI-ACP, or SAFe Agilist certification.
- Experience with data governance, compliance (GDPR, SOC 2), and AI ethics frameworks.
