We are seeking a passionate and qualified Primary English Teacher to deliver the Cambridge Primary English curriculum for learners in Stage 1–6 (Grades 1–5). The ideal candidate will create an engaging, language‑rich environment that develops students’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills while fostering a love for English and literature.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver student‑centred English lessons aligned with the Cambridge Primary English framework, ensuring coverage of reading, writing, spoken language, and grammar.
- Develop age‑appropriate lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessments to monitor and track student progress.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources (stories, poems, drama, role‑play, digital tools, and activity‑based learning) to make English lessons lively and inclusive.
- Assess students through formative and summative techniques (class tasks, worksheets, reading logs, creative writing, and oral presentations) and maintain clear records of performance.
- Identify learning gaps and provide differentiated support for struggling learners as well as enrichment for more able students.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, assessment moderation, and standardisation within the Primary English team.
- Collaborate with homeroom teachers, coordinators, and support staff to integrate English across the curriculum and support cross‑subject literacy.
- Maintain a positive, safe, and well‑managed classroom that promotes independence, creativity, and respect.
- Communicate regularly with parents through reports, parent–teacher meetings, and written/verbal feedback on student progress and behaviour.
- Actively participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school‑based events (assemblies, exhibitions, competitions, etc.).
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in English / English Literature / English Language
- B.Ed. / D.Ed. / equivalent teaching qualification (preferably with primary‑level endorsement).
- Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience in primary English, preferably in a Cambridge / international / CBSE‑Cambridge school.
- Strong understanding of the Cambridge Primary English curriculum and its assessment framework.
- Fluency in spoken and written English; excellent command of grammar, vocabulary, and child‑friendly communication.
