Role Description

Mondrian High School is seeking a passionate and experienced PGT English Teacher to teach Grades 8–12. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging, inquiry-driven English lessons that cultivate critical thinking, creativity, and strong communication skills among students.

⚠️ Prior teaching experience in a Cambridge curriculum school is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and concept-driven English lessons for Grades 8–12
• Design lesson plans aligned with Cambridge curriculum standards
• Encourage critical thinking through literature discussions, debates, writing workshops, and analytical activities
• Develop students’ skills in reading, writing, speaking, and literary analysis
• Assess student progress through assignments, projects, presentations, and examinations
• Provide constructive feedback to support academic growth and writing development
• Create an inclusive and intellectually stimulating classroom environment
• Guide students in exploring literary texts, language skills, and creative expression
• Mentor students and support their academic and personal development
• Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen interdisciplinary learning opportunities
• Participate actively in school events, workshops, and professional development initiatives

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in English / English Literature with a B.Ed. or relevant teaching qualification
• Mandatory experience teaching in a Cambridge curriculum school
• Experience teaching middle and senior school students (Grades 8–12 preferred)
• Strong command of English language and literature
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and classroom management skills
• Ability to create interactive, student-centered learning experiences
• Passion for literature, writing, and nurturing students’ analytical and creative abilities
