About the role
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented ELA / ESL Content Specialist to join our curriculum team in Malappuram. You will be responsible for creating, reviewing, and refining English Language Arts and ESL workbooks used by students in Grades 9 through 12. Your work will directly shape how students learn English — from grammar and comprehension to writing and communication skills. All materials you produce must meet print-ready publishing standards.
Key responsibilities
Create original ELA and ESL workbooks, worksheets, and exercises aligned to Grade 9–12 curriculum standards
Proofread and edit existing workbooks for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, and pedagogical accuracy
Identify and correct errors in content, formatting, layout, and language usage across draft and final materials
Suggest and implement improvements to content structure, exercise variety, difficulty progression, and student engagement
Prepare final manuscript files that are fully print-ready, including proper margins, fonts, spacing, and page layout
Collaborate with subject leads and curriculum designers to ensure consistency across all workbook series
Ensure ESL content is appropriate for non-native English speakers, with clear language scaffolding and graded difficulty
Qualifications required
Minimum education
Bachelor's degree in English
English Literature, Linguistics, or Education
Teaching qualification
B.Ed in English
Required alongside subject degree
Skills & competencies
Excellent command of written English — grammar, punctuation, syntax, and style
Experience in curriculum writing, content development, or educational publishing
Proficiency in MS Word, Google Docs, or desktop publishing tools (e.g. InDesign, Canva)
Understanding of print production requirements — bleed, margins, resolution, font embedding
Strong attention to detail with ability to spot errors others miss
Ability to adapt language and tone for ESL learners at varying proficiency levels
Preferred experience
Prior classroom teaching experience at secondary level (Grades 9–12)
Experience writing or editing for educational publishers
Familiarity with CBSE, ICSE, or international English curriculum frameworks
Knowledge of TEFL / TESOL methodologies for ESL content
