1. ROLE PURPOSE:

  • To assist the Project Manager in the safe, effective and successful implementation and delivery of engineering projects within budget and schedule requirements.
  • Participate in the preparation of cost and manhour estimates for Proposals.

2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • To ensure that all the project team is familiar with, and fully understand the project work scope and project milestones (if any), and to manage and control all changes identified via Change Identification Notices (CIN) including the associated cost/ schedule impacts.
  • To ensure there is effective communication, co-ordination and interfacing between all disciplines and the procurement group and is conducted in accordance with project procedures and protocol.
  • To provide technical support to the project team and to co-ordinate the resolution of design issues and/or conflicts.
  • To promote safety, quality and cost-effective work practices in accordance with company and project policy and objectives.
  • Oversee the preparation of project documentation including, specifications, drawings, calculations, reports, material take-offs and also requisitions.
  • Ensure that the inter discipline review of documents and drawings is managed and is occurring in a timely manner to suit project schedule and Seller contractual requirements.
  • In conjunction with the Project Manager, to represent the project in liaison with Clients, Sellers and Certifying Authorities and Classification Society as required.
  • To manage the project team and ensure design meets Project and Basis of Design requirements in compliance with Corporate, Client, and international regulatory procedures and standards.
  • To assist the Project Manager in the preparation of any required project management documents including Project Execution Plan, Project Instructions, Quality Plan, Management of Change procedure, Document Distribution Matrix and the overall project schedule.
  • To assist the Project Manager with the review of the project discipline scopes of work and the associated Cost Time Resources (CTR's) prepared by project Leads and to ensure that there are the necessary resources, tools and staff to execute the work in a logical and timely fashion.
  • To co-ordinate with Planners and ensure the weekly progress is reported and issued to the Client.
  • Oversee the evaluation of tenders/bids for technical compliance including recommendations relating to the selection of Sellers before forwarding to the Project Manager for approval.
  • Ensure that the review of Seller documentation is timely and in accordance with project schedule requirements.
  • Prepare invoicing and co-ordinate with Project Services for the timely issue to the Client.
  • Monitor, control and report project and discipline progress and attend project meetings and subsequently report key issues to staff.
  • Check and monitor mahours/timesheets/overtime.
  • Provide a dual focal point (with Project Manager) for channelling of project correspondence between Company and Client.
  • Facilitate the timely approval and issue of all project deliverables in accordance with the schedule.
  • Provide input to 3rd Party Studies/ Reviews – HAZOP / HAZID / SIL / Layout / 3D Model / Certifying Authority.
  • Liaise with GPS management, Client, Certifying/Classification Authority
  • To ensure proper and adequate assistance is provided personally, and by project team members as required to site construction, completions and commissioning teams.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERINCE

Qualification:

Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years in the Oil & Gas or Petro-Chemical industry.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in directing multi discipline engineering design task forces including a period in a consulting or project management environment.
  • Significant related project engineering management experience working for Engineering/Client organisations in the Oil and Gas Industry
  • Pre-FEED, FEED, detailed design or EPC project in oil and gas industry
  • Cost, estimating and planning execution knowledge.
  • Broad knowledge of engineering discipline activities.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of international equipment specifications and codes.
  • Knowledge of standard international specifications and codes.
  • Knowledge of Safety and Quality procedures.
  • Ability to plan execution interfaces and takes corrective action with regards to engineering design.
  • Global work experience.
