Engineering Operations Leader

About the Role
We are looking for a strategic and execution-focused Engineering Operations Leader to partner closely with the SVP Engineering as a trusted advisor and operational lead. This role will drive organizational effectiveness, execution rigor, governance, and cross-functional alignment across the engineering organization.
The ideal candidate will bring strong program management, operational excellence, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking capabilities to help scale engineering operations in a fast-growing SaaS environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Partner with the SVP Engineering on strategic initiatives, organizational priorities, and operational execution.
- Translate engineering strategy into actionable execution plans with measurable outcomes.
- Drive governance, planning cadences, dashboards, leadership reviews, and execution tracking mechanisms.
- Improve visibility into delivery health, engineering productivity, quality, and operational KPIs.
Program & Cross-functional Execution
- Lead complex cross-functional initiatives across engineering, product, QA, infrastructure, security, and business teams.
- Manage dependencies, escalations, action items, and organizational priorities to ensure timely delivery.
- Support transformation programs, modernization efforts, and organizational scaling initiatives.
Leadership Enablement & Communication
- Support leadership reviews, planning sessions, operational meetings, and executive reporting.
- Prepare executive-ready presentations, dashboards, summaries, and operational insights.
- Drive accountability, alignment, and collaboration across globally distributed teams.
Data-driven Decision Making
- Define and monitor engineering KPIs, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
- Analyze operational metrics and execution trends to improve organizational efficiency and delivery outcomes.
- Promote a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in engineering operations, program management, PMO, strategy & operations, or Chief of Staff roles within technology organizations.
- Strong understanding of engineering operating models, Agile methodologies, SDLC, and SaaS product environments.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale cross-functional programs and drive operational excellence.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Experience working closely with senior engineering leadership and executive stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, dashboards, spreadsheets, and presentation tools.
- Experience in SaaS, AI/ML, or high-growth product organizations is preferred.
- MBA or equivalent management qualification is a plus.
