Technical Project Manager / Engineering Manager

🎯 About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to join the Centre of Excellence — AI Productivity team. At C5, this role goes beyond traditional project management — you are expected to operate as a strategic delivery leader who brings a strong technical foundation, cross-functional influence, and exceptional stakeholder communication.
You will own end-to-end delivery of complex, AI-integrated software projects, working closely with engineering leads, architects, business stakeholders, and clients. Your technical background in .NET or Java, combined with cloud expertise, enables you to engage credibly with engineering teams and make informed decisions that balance delivery timelines, technical quality, and business value.
This is a highly client-facing role. You will represent delivery commitments, lead status discussions, and navigate escalations with confidence and clarity.
📋 Key ResponsibilitiesProject Delivery & Governance
• Own end-to-end delivery of one or more concurrent software projects within the CoE — AI Productivity portfolio
• Define and manage project scope, schedule, resource plan, risks, and dependencies
• Establish delivery governance frameworks — checkpoints, status reporting, escalation paths, and RAID logs
• Drive Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and stakeholder reviews
• Proactively identify delivery risks and lead mitigation strategies without waiting for escalation
Technical Engagement & Stakeholder Management
• Engage credibly with engineering teams on architecture decisions, technical trade-offs, and delivery feasibility
• Translate complex technical topics into clear, business-oriented communication for clients and leadership
• Lead client-facing meetings, project reviews, and milestone presentations with confidence
• Collaborate with Technical Leads and Architects to align delivery priorities with engineering capacity
• Act as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders on delivery status, escalations, and scope changes
People, Process & Continuous Improvement
• Work with resource managers to ensure right-fit team composition across projects
• Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within delivery teams
• Drive adoption of delivery best practices, tooling standards, and Agile maturity across the team
• Contribute to CoE knowledge base — retrospectives, delivery playbooks, and lessons learned
✅ Mandatory Skills & Experience
Project Management
• 10+ years of overall experience with at least 5 years in a project or delivery management role
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale, enterprise software projects on time and within scope
• Strong command of Agile and Scrum frameworks; experience with tools such as Jira, Azure Boards, or equivalent
• Hands-on experience managing RAID logs, project plans, resource trackers, and status dashboards
Technical Background (Mandatory)
• Hands-on development background in .NET (C#, ASP.NET) or Java (Spring Boot) — sufficient to engage meaningfully in technical discussions and code-level decisions
• Understanding of full-stack development concepts — frontend frameworks, REST APIs, databases, and application architecture
• Cloud platform experience on AWS or Azure — enough to evaluate infrastructure decisions, cost implications, and deployment strategies
• Familiarity with DevOps practices — CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and release management
GenAI & AI Productivity Awareness (Mandatory)
• Basic understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI concepts, and their applicability in software delivery
• Awareness of AI-assisted development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor AI) and how they influence team velocity and quality
• Ability to factor AI productivity tooling into project planning, estimation, and team enablement
Communication & Client Engagement (CRITICAL)
• Excellent written and verbal communication — able to present clearly to C-suite, technical teams, and client stakeholders alike
• Strong client-facing presentation skills — comfortable leading solution walkthroughs, executive reviews, and escalation discussions
• Demonstrated ability to manage difficult conversations, negotiate scope, and maintain stakeholder confidence under pressure
⭐ Preferred Qualifications
• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification
• Agile certifications — CSM, PSM, SAFe Agilist, or equivalent
• Cloud certifications — AWS Solutions Architect or Azure Administrator / Developer Associate
• Experience managing AI or GenAI product development projects
• Exposure to pre-sales activities — effort estimation, proposal writing, or solution presentations
• Experience working in a Centre of Excellence or horizontal shared services team
