About the opportunity
We are hiring an Engineering Manager for an early-stage, AI-native product company building technology for global supply-chain operations.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can combine technical judgment, people management and delivery ownership. You will lead software engineers, work closely with Product and senior leadership, and help the team deliver scalable, reliable software consistently.
Key responsibilities
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of software engineers
• Own sprint planning, execution and delivery timelines
• Translate product requirements into practical engineering plans
• Review system designs, architecture decisions and code
• Identify and remove technical and delivery blockers
• Improve engineering processes, quality and operational efficiency
• Establish strong practices across testing, code reviews and CI/CD
• Work closely with Product, Operations and leadership stakeholders
• Support hiring, onboarding and performance management
• Help build a high-performing, ownership-driven engineering culture
Required experience
• 7–12 years of software-engineering experience
• At least one year of engineering leadership or team-management experience
• Strong foundation in backend software development
• Good understanding of distributed systems and system design
• Experience building scalable, production-grade applications
• Experience managing Agile or Scrum-based engineering delivery
• Ability to assess technical designs, architecture and code quality
• Strong mentoring, planning and stakeholder-management skills
• Ability to balance technical leadership with people and project management
• Willingness to work onsite in Chennai
Preferred experience
• Experience working in a product or SaaS company
• Exposure to AI/ML or data-driven products
• Familiarity with Python, Java, Go or similar backend technologies
• Experience with AWS, GCP or Azure
• Understanding of microservices, APIs, databases and messaging systems
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD and DevOps practices
• Experience working in an early-stage or fast-growing environment
