Job Description:
Engineering Manager – Software Development (India Development Centre)
Location: Bengaluru, India (Godrej Fund Management Building, Indiranagar)
Reports To: Senior Manager / Director of Software Development
About the Role

meaningful impact. The India Development Centre (IDC) plays a pivotal role in building
next-generation capital equipment and connected systems that support medical device
reprocessing worldwide.
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead high-performing software engineering and
verification teams responsible for developing real-time embedded software and
cloud-connected capabilities. You will combine strong technical depth with exceptional
leadership, organizational agility, and delivery excellence to drive product success across
cross-functional global teams.
Your Impact
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Technical Leadership
Lead the design and development of embedded and connected software for medical
device reprocessing systems.
Define robust system architectures and technical specifications in collaboration with
global engineering and product teams.
Provide hands-on technical guidance by reviewing designs, troubleshooting issues,
and ensuring engineering best practices are followed.
Ensure product development meets performance, safety, reliability, cybersecurity,
and regulatory expectations.
Team & People Leadership
Directly manage a team of software engineers and verification engineers at the IDC.
Own the full spectrum of people management, including hiring, onboarding,
mentoring, coaching, and performance development.
Build a culture of innovation, accountability, continuous learning, and high-trust
collaboration.
Foster healthy team dynamics and ensure strong alignment with broader
organizational goals.
Execution & Delivery
Drive successful delivery of project milestones using agile methodologies and
engineering excellence.
Define project scopes, timelines, budgets, and resource plans, and ensure timely
execution against commitments.
Identify, mitigate, and communicate risks proactively to leadership.
Cross Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with product management, systems engineering, quality,
manufacturing, and global R&D teams to deliver cross-functional outcomes.
Communicate technical challenges, program status, and business opportunities to
senior leadership.
Process & Compliance
Ensure adherence to quality systems, documentation requirements, and regulatory
standards relevant to medical device development.
Support continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and automation
frameworks.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science,
Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or equivalent technical field.
Minimum 5 years of direct people management experience leading teams of 8 or
more software engineers.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on development experience in object-oriented languages
such as C++, Java, or C#.
Experience in Embedded system design and development, and C language.
Strong expertise in agile methodologies with proven ability to coach teams in agile
practices.
Demonstrated project management experience, including planning, execution, risk
management, and cross-functional communication.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Broad experience with modern IT and software technology platforms and tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in a relevant technical discipline.
Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
Prior experience working in medical devices, life sciences, or other regulated
industries.
Experience with realtime embedded systems development and cloud-connected
architectures.
