Engineering Lead -INDIA
Position Overview – Located in India (Bangalore, Mumbai)
The Building Services and Smart Building Technology Lead plays a central role in shaping M Moser’s future engineering and integrated delivery model. This role is focused not only on technical excellence, but on improving how engineering, technology, sustainability, and delivery work together to create high-performing, human-centric environments for our clients.
We are looking for a leader who combines strong engineering judgement with systems thinking, commercial awareness, and a collaborative, cross-disciplinary approach. The role requires someone comfortable operating in evolving workflows and hybrid delivery environments, using digital tools, smart building strategies, and integrated engineering thinking to improve project outcomes, coordination, and delivery quality.
You will lead MEP Engineering and Smart Building services across workplace consultancy and design-build projects, supporting projects from early-stage technical due diligence and concept development through delivery, commissioning, and operational readiness. You will work closely with design, strategy, sustainability, technology, and delivery teams to ensure engineering decisions support design intent, constructability, operational performance, occupant wellbeing, and long-term value.
As a senior member of the global ETS team, you will also contribute to the ongoing evolution of our engineering practice, helping shape workflows, standards, capability development, and smarter ways of working across regions. As the market increasingly demands low-carbon, wellness-focused, and intelligent building solutions, this role will help position M Moser at the forefront of integrated workplace engineering and smart building delivery.
A key part of the role is helping the business move beyond traditional production-led engineering models toward a more concept-led, coordinated, and insight-driven approach — where engineering creates value through decision-making, integration, clarity, and performance.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Day to day management and leadership of the internal team - you will be responsible for the sustainable growth of the business through excellent project delivery, team development, and securing work.
- Lead early-stage engineering strategy, decision sequencing, and cross-disciplinary integration to improve project clarity, coordination, and delivery outcomes.
- Actively contributes to improving workflows, coordination methods, and engineering delivery practices across the business.
- Contribute to expanding engineering value across projects through early-stage advisory, smart building integration, sustainability strategy, and performance-led design solutions.
- Collaborate with architecture, design, workplace strategy, and sustainability teams to deliver human-centric environments that improve wellbeing, operational performance, and user experience.
- Provide leadership and mentoring of your team to support the growth of the business.
- Lead internal and external project teams related to our MEP and Smart Building Technology services - in consultancy and design-build workplace projects (interior fit out)
- Support building services engineering, contractors, and technical personnel to ensure design, costing, timing and quality are in line with project requirements.
- Assist PM and procurement team for technical and commercial evaluation, value engineering solutions during bidding process.
- Coordination with architects and other external consultant to establish the design brief; work with our partners to deliver through the design and construction phases.
- Inspect and supervise various MEP disciplines during construction and identify and resolve engineering risks early, reducing downstream coordination issues and rework during construction.
- Work with our internal teams as a stakeholder to improve our sustainable operations and effect our ESG programs.
- Collaborate with our architecture, design, strategy and sustainability teams to develop best-in-class design and specify cutting-edge building systems that prioritize low carbon emissions, high operational efficiency, and enhance occupant well-being and satisfaction.
- Travel to client projects, other M Moser offices, and industry events, as required.
Qualifications & Key Competencies
- 10+ years of work experience in Building Services Engineering.
- Demonstrates curiosity, adaptability, and continuous learning in evolving tools, systems, and ways of working.
- Comfortable working in hybrid engineering environments that combine technical expertise, digital workflows, automation, and structured decision-making.
- Strong systems-thinking capability with the ability to connect engineering decisions to design intent, constructability, procurement, operational performance, and client outcomes.
- University Degree in Building Services Engineering or related field (Electrical and Mechanical).
- Builds capability across teams by mentoring others, sharing knowledge openly, and helping teams adopt more effective ways of working.
- Familiar with relevant codes and standards.
- Experience inspecting and supervising various MEP disciplines during construction and providing solutions to overcome site problems.
- Coordinating & reviewing MEP Design BOQ and documentation with third party consultants, vendors (internal & external stakeholders).
- Able to conduct a T&C procedure and write T&C plan.
- Experience responding to RFPs, developing fees for projects and participating in client interviews.
- Experience working on projects with sustainability, low carbon, or low energy goals and ambitions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all types and levels of
- professionals.
- Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
