Role Purpose
The Engineering Draughtsman is responsible for preparing, revising, and maintaining accurate engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical documentation to support product development, manufacturing, quality assurance, and customer requirements.
Working under the guidance of the Engineering Manager and senior engineers, the role converts engineering concepts, customer specifications, and technical requirements into detailed manufacturing drawings that comply with company standards, customer specifications, applicable engineering standards, and quality management system requirements
.

KEY RESPONSIBILIT
IES1. Engineering Drafting & CAD Des
- ignPrepare accurate 2D engineering drawings and 3D CAD models using approved CAD softwar
- e. Produce detailed manufacturing drawings in accordance with engineering standards and company drafting practice
- s. Interpret engineering sketches, customer drawings, technical specifications, standards, and design requirement
- s. Apply appropriate dimensions, tolerances, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) where applicabl
- e. Ensure drawings contain complete manufacturing information, including materials, finishes, heat treatment, coatings, and special characteristic
- s. Maintain high levels of drawing accuracy and consistenc
y.
2. Engineering Documentation & Document Con
- trolMaintain engineering drawings in accordance with document control procedur
- es. Manage engineering drawing revisions using approved revision control process
- es. Ensure obsolete drawings are withdrawn and superseded versions are properly releas
- ed. Maintain engineering databases, drawing registers, and document archiv
- es. Ensure engineering documentation complies with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 document control requiremen
- ts. Support engineering change documentation and revision history manageme
nt.
3. Product Development Su
- pportAssist engineers in preparing drawings for new product developm
- ent. Prepare prototype drawings and engineering documentat
- ion. Update drawings following engineering design revi
- ews. Assist with engineering validation and product verification activit
- ies. Prepare customer submission drawings where requi
- red. Support engineering activities throughout the product development lifecy
cle.
4. Manufacturing & Production S
- upportPrepare production-ready drawings for manufactu
- ring. Work closely with Production to ensure drawings are practical and manufactur
- able. Update drawings to reflect approved process improvem
- ents. Assist in resolving drawing-related production is
- sues. Support tooling modifications by preparing revised engineering draw
- ings. Participate in engineering discussions regarding manufacturability improvem
ents.
5. Engineering Change Man
- agementSupport implementation of Engineering Change Requests
- (ECR). Prepare Engineering Change Notices
- (ECN). Ensure drawing revisions accurately reflect approved engineering ch
- anges. Update Bills of Materials (BOMs) where appli
- cable. Maintain complete traceability of engineering revi
- sions. Ensure engineering documentation remains current throughout the product life
cycle.
6. Quality, Standards & Co
- mplianceEnsure drawings comply with customer specifications and internal engineering sta
- ndards. Support compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality management requir
- ements. Prepare inspection drawings to support Quality Ass
- urance. Support PPAP documentation where re
- quired. Ensure engineering documentation supports manufacturing tracea
- bility. Assist during customer and certification audits relating to engineering documen
- tation. Support corrective and preventive actions relating to engineering documen
tation.

- iatives. Assist with reducing drawing errors and
- rework. Participate in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement act
- ivities. Support standardisation of engineering documentation across the b
usiness.

documents.Ensure engineering records are complete, accurate, and

activities.Maintain confidentiality of customer technical information and intellectua
l property.Report quality or documentation issues promptly to the Engineeri
ng Manager.Support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with the Company's Quality Policy and
