Job Title: Engineer / Senior Engineer – Safety (Solar EPC)
Key Responsibilities
- Site Safety Execution
- Ensure implementation of HSE policies and procedures at project sites.
- Monitor daily construction activities including module mounting structure (MMS), module installation, cable laying, and electrical works.
- Enforce safe work practices, especially for work at heights and lifting operations.
- Hazard Identification & Risk Control
- Conduct HIRA (Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment) and JSA (Job Safety Analysis).
- Identify unsafe acts/conditions and implement corrective measures.
- Ensure proper use of PPE by all workers and staff.
- Safety Inspections & Audits
- Perform regular site inspections and safety audits.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and statutory requirements.
- Close audit observations within defined timelines.
- Incident Reporting & Investigation
- Report and investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA).
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Training & Awareness
- Conduct safety induction for new employees and workers.
- Deliver toolbox talks and daily safety briefings.
- Promote safety awareness programs and campaigns.
- Permit to Work (PTW) System
- Implement and monitor PTW system for high-risk activities (height work, electrical, lifting, hot work).
- Ensure all permits are properly issued, followed, and closed.
- Contractor Safety Management
- Monitor contractor compliance with safety standards.
- Ensure contractors follow safety procedures and use proper PPE.
- Coordinate with contractors for safety improvements.
- Emergency Preparedness
- Support emergency response planning and mock drills.
- Ensure availability of firefighting equipment, first-aid kits, and emergency contacts.
- Act as first responder during emergencies.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain safety records, reports, and checklists.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly safety reports.
- Track safety KPIs and report to management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Diploma / B.E./B.Tech + Safety Certification
- Experience:Engineer: 2–5 years
- Senior Engineer: 5–8 years
- Experience in solar EPC / power / construction projects preferred
Key Skills
- Knowledge of HSE standards and regulations
- Risk assessment and incident investigation
- Understanding of solar project activities
- Good communication and training skills
- Basic computer skills (MS Office)
