Job Summary
The Engineer / Sr. Engineer – Planning & Scheduling will be responsible for production planning, resource allocation, and monitoring of composite manufacturing projects from order release to delivery. The role involves preparing detailed schedules for lamination, curing, machining, trimming, and assembly, while coordinating with engineering, production, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure on-time delivery. The incumbent will manage WIP tracking, material availability, capacity planning, and customer schedule adherence in compliance with aerospace quality and documentation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage production schedules for composite manufacturing processes (lamination, curing, machining, trimming, assembly).
- Monitor daily WIP, track progress against schedules, and update stakeholders on status.
- Coordinate with engineering, QA, and supply chain teams to ensure material availability and process readiness.
- Conduct capacity planning and resource leveling to optimize manpower and equipment utilization.
- Prepare shopfloor travelers, job cards, and planning documents as per project/customer requirements.
- Track MOOWR/Bonded warehouse material issues and align planning with stores.
- Maintain planning KPIs such as OTIF (On-Time In-Full), lead time adherence, and resource utilization.
- Support management reviews with planning reports, dashboards, and variance analysis.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in scheduling accuracy, cycle time reduction, and planning systems.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100D, ISO 9001, and customer-specific delivery requirements.
Technical Expertise
- Diploma / Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience: 3–8 years in production planning & scheduling, preferably in Aerospace, Automotive, or Composites.
- Knowledge of composite manufacturing processes and their cycle times (lamination, curing, trimming, assembly).
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP/Planning tools for schedule management.
- Understanding of MOOWR processes, bonded warehouse material control, and FIFO/LIFO for prepregs.
- Strong skills in MS Excel, Gantt charts, and planning dashboards.
- Familiarity with AS9100D and aerospace planning/documentation practices.
- Good coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
