Job Summary
Inkarp Instruments Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a motivated and technically sound Sales Engineer for the Mumbai location to drive sales and business development for
Hitachi High-Tech DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) and TGA (Thermogravimetric Analysis) Thermal Analysis Systems. The ideal candidate should have experience in scientific or analytical instrumentation sales, technical B2B sales, customer relationship management, and business development.
The candidate will be responsible for achieving sales targets, identifying new business opportunities, conducting product presentations and customer meetings, developing strong customer relationships, and working closely with application specialists to provide the best technical solutions to customers across pharmaceutical, chemical, polymer, material science, R&D, industrial, and academic sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales of Hitachi High-Tech DSC & TGA Thermal Analysis Systems in the assigned territory.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across industries, R&D laboratories, academic institutions, research organizations, and industrial customers.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve assigned sales targets.
- Conduct product presentations, technical discussions, product demonstrations, and customer meetings.
- Understand customer application requirements and recommend suitable thermal analysis solutions.
- Work closely with application specialists to deliver the best customer solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, researchers, scientists, technical users, and key decision-makers.
- Manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation to negotiation and order closure.
- Prepare and submit technical and commercial quotations in coordination with internal teams.
- Coordinate with application and service teams for product demonstrations, installations, and after-sales support.
- Conduct regular customer visits and develop new accounts within the assigned territory.
- Participate in exhibitions, conferences, seminars, workshops, and customer events.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate sales reports, opportunity pipelines, and customer records.
- Ensure timely coordination with internal teams, application specialists, service engineers, and principals.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical sales and business development skills.
- Good understanding of scientific and analytical instrumentation.
- Knowledge of thermal analysis techniques and instruments will be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer relationship management abilities.
- Ability to conduct technical product presentations and demonstrations.
- Strong territory management and lead generation skills.
- Self-motivated with a passion for achieving sales targets.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel extensively for customer visits and business development activities.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Physics, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
- Strong interest in scientific and analytical instrumentation sales.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and target-oriented professional.
- Strong customer-facing and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to understand customer requirements and provide suitable technical solutions.
Preferred Experience
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in scientific, analytical, laboratory, or technical instrumentation sales.
- Experience in scientific or analytical instrumentation sales is preferred.
- Candidates with experience in DSC, TGA, DTA, thermal analysis, material characterization, or related products will be preferred.
- Experience handling pharmaceutical, chemical, polymer, material science, R&D, industrial, academic, or research customers will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with strong technical B2B sales and business development experience may also be considered.
