About The Role
Svaya Robotics is looking for an
Engineer, PCB Design to design, develop, and validate high-performance printed circuit boards for our collaborative and bimanual humanoid robotic platforms. You will work closely with hardware, embedded, firmware, mechanical, controls, and manufacturing teams to translate system requirements into robust and production-ready PCB designs.
You will be responsible for schematic design, PCB layout, component selection, signal and power integrity, design validation, prototyping, debugging, and supporting the transition from prototype to production. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with
Altium, a solid understanding of electronics and PCB design fundamentals, and the ability to design reliable hardware for real-world robotic applications.
About The Work
- Design multi-layer PCBs for robotic systems, motor control, embedded electronics, sensor interfaces, power electronics, and communication systems using Altium Designer
- Create schematics, PCB layouts, libraries, footprints, and manufacturing documentation
- Perform component selection based on electrical, mechanical, thermal, cost, and availability requirements
- Design high-speed digital, analog, power, and mixed-signal circuits with appropriate PCB layout practices
- Work on interfaces such as CAN, Ethernet, USB, UART, SPI, I2C, RS485, and other industrial communication protocols
- Perform design reviews, DFM/DFT analysis, signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal considerations
- Collaborate with embedded, firmware, mechanical, controls, and system teams for seamless hardware integration
- Build and test prototypes, identify design issues, and support hardware bring-up and debugging
- Work with vendors and contract manufacturers for PCB fabrication and assembly
- Support PCB validation, testing, troubleshooting, and design iterations
- Develop and maintain complete engineering documentation, including BOMs, schematics, Gerber files, assembly drawings, and manufacturing data
- Support product development from concept and prototyping through qualification and production
About You
- Strong hands-on experience in PCB design using Altium Designer/Cadence
- Solid understanding of electronic circuit design and PCB design fundamentals
- Experience designing multi-layer PCBs for embedded and industrial applications
- Strong knowledge of schematic capture, PCB layout, component placement, routing, grounding, and power distribution
- Good understanding of analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics
- Familiarity with high-speed signal routing, differential pairs, impedance control, EMI/EMC, and signal integrity
- Understanding of hardware communication interfaces such as CAN, Ethernet, USB, UART, SPI, and I2C
- Experience with PCB fabrication, assembly processes, DFM/DFT, and hardware bring-up
- Ability to read and interpret component datasheets and application notes
- Good debugging and problem-solving skills using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and other electronic test equipment
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced startup environment
- Learning mindset with willingness to take on new challenges and solve unfamiliar problems
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in PCB design and hardware development using Altium Designer.
Nice to Have’s
- Experience designing PCBs for robotics, motor control, autonomous systems, or industrial automation
- Experience with high-speed processors, microcontrollers, FPGAs, and embedded systems
- Knowledge of power electronics, BLDC motor controllers, and DC-DC converters
- Experience with Altium scripting, library management, and design automation
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC compliance and standards for industrial or robotic products
- Experience with hardware validation, environmental testing, and product qualification.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering/Electrical Engineering or related field.
