Role Description The Engineer Intern will support the development and improvement of JobRushAI’s AI-powered career platform in a full-time remote role. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing and testing new features, fixing bugs, and contributing to backend and frontend development tasks under the guidance of senior engineers. The intern will help integrate and refine AI capabilities, assist with data processing pipelines, and collaborate on experiments to improve recommendation quality, resume analysis, and interview preparation tools. The role involves working closely with product and design teams to translate requirements into technical solutions, writing clean and maintainable code, and documenting work for future iterations. The intern will also participate in code reviews, learn best practices in modern software engineering, and contribute ideas to enhance the user experience and platform performance.
Qualifications
- Foundational programming skills in languages such as Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript, with experience in writing clean, well-structured code.
- Basic understanding of web development, including HTML, CSS, and at least one frontend framework (e.g., React, Next.js, or similar).
- Familiarity with backend development concepts, RESTful APIs, and working with databases (SQL or NoSQL).
- Interest or coursework in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Large Language Models, and willingness to learn tools like RAG and related AI frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and research skills, with the ability to break complex tasks into manageable steps.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate in a remote, cross-functional team environment.
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Self-motivated, curious, and comfortable working independently while seeking feedback to improve.
- Prior project experience (personal, academic, or open-source) in web apps, AI tools, or automation is a plus.
