Position Summary
We are seeking an
Engineer III – Test & Verification (V&V) to join a growing R&D team in Hyderabad supporting sustaining engineering, VAVE, and lifecycle management for the
KingFisher sample preparation systems and
Detection instruments.
In this role, you will be a
key individual contributor, responsible for developing and executing verification and validation strategies at the subsystem and system levels. You will ensure product performance, reliability, and quality through robust testing, while supporting issue resolution, design changes, and continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Test & Verification Development
- Develop and execute verification and validation (V&V) plans for subsystems and system-level requirements.
- Design and implement test methods, protocols, and test cases to evaluate product performance and reliability.
- Define acceptance criteria and traceability to system requirements.
- Develop and maintain test documentation, reports, and data analysis.
Test Execution & Analysis
- Perform hands-on testing, including functional, performance, and reliability testing.
- Analyze test data to identify trends, failures, and performance gaps.
- Support root cause investigations by providing test data and insights.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to validate design changes and fixes.
Sustaining Engineering & Lifecycle Support
- Support sustaining activities through verification of design updates, ECOs, and component changes.
- Ensure continued compliance with performance and quality requirements across product lifecycles.
- Contribute to risk assessments and validation strategies for product updates.
Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE)
- Support cost optimization initiatives by validating alternative components and design changes.
- Develop test strategies to ensure performance is maintained or improved with cost reductions.
- Contribute data-driven insights to support design trade-offs and decision making.
Global & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with global R&D teams (Finland, US, Singapore) to align on test strategies and support knowledge transfer.
- Collaborate with systems, electrical, mechanical, and firmware teams to ensure comprehensive validation coverage.
- Partner with quality, manufacturing, and service teams to address field issues and improve product robustness.
- Collaborate with Business Unit Product Management to support execution aligned with product priorities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, or related field).
- 5+ years of experience in test engineering, verification, or validation roles.
- Experience developing and executing test plans, protocols, and reports.
- Strong skills in data analysis, problem solving, and root cause investigation.
- Experience working in cross-functional engineering environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with life sciences or analytical instrumentation (e.g., sample prep, PCR/qPCR).
- Familiarity with system-level testing, reliability testing, and environmental testing.
- Experience with automated test systems, scripting, or data acquisition tools.
- Knowledge of design controls and validation in regulated environments.
- Experience supporting VAVE or cost optimization initiatives.
