Job Role: Engineer- Data Operations In Finance
Job Purpose:
The job is responsible for accurately processing requests and resolving both simple and complex queries related to Finance, Downstream, and Trading & Supply master data in relevant source systems. The role ensures that automated, semi-automated, and manual data maintenance is completed correctly, follows all controls, and supports continuous improvements in the process.
Key Responsibilities:
· Process master data requests accurately and on time across multiple systems.
· Handle and resolve queries and issues related to ERP, Trading, and Finance data; coordinate with stakeholders when needed.
· Maintain logs, trackers, and records in line with documentation and archival requirements.
· Identify gaps and suggest improvements; participate in or lead small improvement initiatives.
· Provide technical and process expertise to troubleshoot manual and automation issues.
· Support data cleansing, business projects, and Business Continuity activities.
· Ensure compliance with controls, policies, and SOX/business control requirements.
Key Challenges
· Managing complex processes involving many systems, countries, and business lines.
· Working with diverse stakeholders virtually across time zones and handling urgent, unplanned requests.
· Adapting to frequent changes and tight deadlines in a dynamic business environment.
· Maintaining accuracy and attention to detail while handling large volumes of data.
Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience
· Graduate in Finance, Accountancy, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
· Hands-on experience in SAP (including SAP Security UAP roles); knowledge of Finance MRD and other T&S systems (DEX, Endur, Radar) is an advantage.
· 2+ years of experience in Finance/Accounts or data management in a large organization preferred.
· Strong understanding of master data processes, data quality, controls, and process excellence, and an eye for detail.
· Good communication skills in English and ability to work with global teams.
· Proficient in MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and other tools that support or interface with SAP.
· Experience in improvement or transformation projects is desirable.
