About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our Engineering Group, focusing on Linux Kernel Device Driver Development. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining hardware drivers and modules that are integral to Qualcomm's cutting-edge products. You will work closely with hardware teams to ensure seamless integration of drivers with various hardware components, including I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, SDIO, Flash, and DMA. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing the performance and reliability of our solutions, supporting our mission to deliver innovative connectivity and IoT products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux internals, core BSP development, and debugging skills using tools like JTAG and Lauterbach.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with at least 2 years of relevant software engineering experience, or a Master's degree with 1 year of experience, or a PhD in a related discipline.
- Proven experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python, with a minimum of 2 years working on software development projects.
- Strong understanding of Linux OS concepts, Linux internals, and hardware driver development.
- Hands-on experience with hardware drivers/modules, including I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, SDIO, Flash, and DMA.
- Knowledge of RTOs concepts and core Board Support Package (BSP) development.
- Excellent debugging skills, including experience with JTAG and Lauterbach tools.
Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and maintain Linux kernel device drivers for various hardware components and interfaces.
- Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to ensure seamless integration of drivers and modules.
- Analyze and troubleshoot driver-related issues, utilizing debugging tools such as JTAG and Lauterbach.
- Contribute to the development of core BSPs, ensuring compatibility and performance enhancements.
- Participate in code reviews, documentation, and testing to uphold high-quality standards.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, Linux kernel developments, and best practices in driver development.
- Support the deployment and maintenance of drivers in production environments, ensuring stability and performance.
