Role Description

Location: Sr No. 74,75/2/1, Office No. 21,22, 23, 3rd floor, Shroff Suyash Building, Baner, Pune, 411045
The Engineer will work across PCB design and technical tender support for energy meters and smart meters. The role requires strong hands-on skills in microcontrollers, communication protocols, PCB design tools, along with the ability to prepare and maintain technical tender documents and compliance records.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design & Development
• Design, develop, and test embedded firmware for energy meters and related products.
• Work with microcontrollers such as ARM, PIC, AVR, STM32, ESP32.
• Develop firmware using Embedded C / C++, RTOS (FreeRTOS preferred).
• Implement and debug communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I²C , RS232 / RS485 and CAN, LIN (where applicable)
• Support DLMS/COSEM integration and testing, using tools like Gurux, Kalki , etc.
• Design and modify schematics and PCB layouts for meter electronics.
• Work with tools like Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB routing.
• Coordinate with SMT and production teams for assembly, debugging and fault analysis.
• Support hardware testing, calibration and troubleshooting of energy meters.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing type test reports, routine and acceptance test documents.
• Ensure technical design compliance with IS 13779, IS 16444, IS 15959 and utility specifications.
• Support BIS and customer audits.
2. Tender Technical Documentation
• Prepare technical compliance statements, technical datasheets, drawings, block diagrams and other
design documents.
• Review tender technical specifications for meters and smart metering systems.
• Provide engineering inputs for tender queries and clarifications.
• Coordinate with other departments for tender submissions.
Skills & Technical Competencies
• Strong knowledge of embedded systems.
• Hands-on experience in PCB designing, SMT processes, power electronics or metering domain.
• Familiarity with DLMS/COSEM and smart meter architecture.
• Experience with testing tools (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, debuggers (ICD/JTAG)).
• Excellence in MS Office.
• Experience in design and development of smart meter / energy meter is desirable.
