Libre Wireless is looking for passionate and talented Linux Embedded Application Engineers to
join our engineering team. You will be working on next-generation Audio, Smart Speaker,
Streaming, and IoT platforms powering products for leading global consumer electronics brands.
As part of the team, you will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining embedded
Linux applications written primarily in C/C++. You will work closely with architects, product
managers, QA engineers, and customers to deliver high-quality, scalable, and reliable software
solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, debug, and deploy embedded Linux applications using C and C++.
Analyze product requirements, participate in technical discussions, and contribute to
software architecture and design.
Understand, maintain, and enhance Libre's existing Audio and IoT software platforms.
Develop robust, modular, scalable, and maintainable software following industry best
practices and coding standards.
Build new features and enhancements within the existing software architecture while
contributing to continuous architectural improvements.
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software issues across application,
middleware, and system layers.
Work closely with cross-functional teams including QA, Product Management, Hardware,
and Customer Engineering teams.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving software quality, performance, and
reliability.
Drive best practices in software development, testing, documentation, version control, and
release management.
Support customer integrations and product launches when required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Mandatory Skills
Strong programming skills in C and C++.
Good understanding of Linux operating systems and Linux application development.
Solid understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Object-Oriented Programming
concepts.
Familiarity with multithreading, inter-process communication (IPC), sockets, and
networking fundamentals.
Good debugging and troubleshooting skills on Linux platforms.
Strong analytical, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to understand and work with complex software systems and architectures.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Embedded Linux platforms such as Buildroot, Yocto, or similar
environments.
Knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, REST APIs, and network protocols.
Exposure to Audio, Multimedia, IoT, Smart Home, or Consumer Electronics products.
Understanding of Linux system services, process management, and performance
optimization.
Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Shell scripting is a plus.
Knowledge of audio frameworks such as ALSA, PulseAudio, PipeWire, or GStreamer is an
added advantage.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Information
Technology, Embedded Systems, or related fields.
1–3 years of hands-on experience in C/C++ software development.
