Overview
This role is aimed at individuals who are passionate about merging technical knowledge with sales expertise in the engineering domain. The Engineer - Application Sales will be responsible for promoting and selling innovative engineering solutions to prospective clients. The objective is to leverage mechanical engineering skills and sales acumen to drive business growth, build lasting customer relationships, and ensure customer satisfaction through effective application of products.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with potential clients to understand their engineering needs and propose suitable technical solutions.
- Develop and deliver presentations and demonstrations of engineering products to clients.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure that client specifications and requirements are met.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive products to inform sales strategies.
- Participate in field sales activities, including client visits, trade shows, and networking events to generate leads and close sales.
- Prepare technical proposals and quotations in line with customer requirements.
- Provide post-sales support and training to ensure successful implementation of products.
- Use customer feedback to inform product development and improve service offerings.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in 2D drawing and drawing reading, with a strong understanding of technical specifications.
- Familiarity with mechanical engineering principles and applications.
- Demonstrable experience with engineering software tools and applications.
- Basic understanding of sales and CRM software for managing customer relationships.
- Ability to analyze technical requirements and translate them into client-ready proposals and solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply, but relevant internships or projects will be a plus.
- Basic understanding of sales principles and business development strategies.
Skills & Experience
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical clients.
- Proven aptitude in sales and business development, particularly in field sales environments.
- Motivated self-starter with a keen interest in marrying engineering know-how with customer engagement.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being capable of independent work.
- Willingness to travel to client sites and participate in field-based activities as required.
