JOB DESCRIPTION- ENGINEER – PLANNING AND TECHNICAL RECORDS
- JOB PURPOSE
To ensure the Company’s aircraft are maintained in accordance with the approved Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP), Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME), Engineering Procedures Manual (EPM), and applicable DGCA regulations, by planning and monitoring all maintenance activities and managing aircraft technical records in compliance with regulatory retention and quality standards. Carry out the duties and responsibilities as under and also as may be /are detailed in the CAME and EPM or as may be specified by the Company from time to time.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
2.1 MAINTENANCE PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT & COMPLIANCE:
- Prepare and maintain Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP) for all Company aircraft, incorporating manufacturer and regulatory changes, and ensuring strict compliance.
- Establish and update aircraft work cards/job cards in line with the approved AMP.
- Monitor and schedule all maintenance requirements in accordance with the AMP to maximise aircraft operational availability.
2.2 MAINTENANCE PLANNING & SCHEDULING:
- Plan and schedule routine and non-routine maintenance in coordination with the Maintenance Organisation and Logistics Department, ensuring availability of required parts, tooling, and manpower.
- Generate maintenance forecasts for each aircraft and schedule activities well in advance to meet operational needs.
- Work closely with the Logistics Department for spares and tools and prepare pre-load lists for scheduled maintenance events to optimise downtime.
- Processing and planning of aircraft, engine, component inspections and modifications within the time frame specified in the approved AMP and Engineering Orders released by Technical Services.
- Inform senior management in advance of major maintenance events requiring grounding.
- Establish and keep up to date aircraft work cards/job cards/procedure sheet in accordance with the approved AMP.
2.3 WORK ORDER & PACKAGE CONTROL:
- Create and issue work orders and maintenance work packages for scheduled events.
- Monitor and take action on incomplete work items to ensure timely closure.
2.4 TECHNICAL RECORDS CONTROL & COMPLIANCE:
- Review completed technical log pages, work orders, and associated documentation from maintenance stations for completeness and compliance with CAME and DGCA requirements.
- Update aircraft, engine, radio, and component logbooks in the computerised system on a daily basis.
- Maintain accurate records of all checks, services, maintenance, and repair activities for regulatory inspection.
- Ensure retention of continued airworthiness records for the regulatory period as per CAME, in a controlled and secure environment.
- Regularly back up records, store them independently, and ensure they can be fully recreated, if required.
- Ensure secure storage of all original technical records.
- Review the completed tech log pages, work orders, and associated paper works received from maintenance stations and ensure that the paperwork is complete in all respects and meets CAME and DGCA requirements.
2.5 COORDINATION WITH EXTERNAL ORGANISATIONS & APPROVALS:
- Liaise with contracted maintenance organisations to ensure execution of planned maintenance per work packages.
- Coordinate with CAM and Quality Manager to obtain deviation approvals when necessary for technical or operational reasons.
2.6 REPORTING & DATA MANAGEMENT:
- Prepare monthly aircraft utilisation reports and other reports for establishing maintenance reserves.
- Maintain performance monitoring data for airworthiness tracking.
