Role overview
We are looking for highly motivated engineers to support the development of electric traction motors, prototype assemblies, and power electronics systems.
You will work directly on real EV products—from concept to prototype to testing.
What you will do
Power Electronics & Inverter Hardware
Design traction inverter hardware for PMSM and BLDC motor controllers.
Develop gate driver circuits, current and voltage sensing circuits, protection circuits, and power stage architectures.
Select and validate power semiconductors (MOSFETs, IGBTs, gate drivers, sensors, passive components) based on electrical, thermal, and reliability requirements.
Optimize hardware for efficiency, thermal performance, EMI/EMC compliance, and manufacturability.
Hardware Design & PCB Development
Design analog and digital circuits including microcontroller interfaces, signal conditioning, filtering, power supplies, and communication circuits.
Develop complete schematic designs and work closely with PCB layout engineers to ensure robust implementation.
Review PCB layouts with focus on grounding, high-current paths, thermal management, isolation, and signal integrity.
Define design guidelines for mixed-signal systems, noise reduction, and EMC best practices.
Control System Engineering
Develop mathematical models of motor drive systems using MATLAB/Simulink.
Perform system-level analysis using transfer functions, Laplace transforms, and frequency-domain techniques.
Support control engineers in PI/PID tuning, stability analysis, and hardware implementation.
Evaluate hardware performance for advanced motor control strategies including MTPA, field weakening, regenerative braking, and high-speed operation.
Hardware Bring-up & Validation
Perform board bring-up and functional validation of prototype motor controllers.
Debug hardware issues related to power electronics, sensing, communication, and embedded interfaces.
Conduct electrical characterization, thermal testing, efficiency measurements, and protection validation.
Support inverter validation on motor test benches and dynamometer (Dyno) systems.
System Architecture
Collaborate with firmware engineers to define hardware architecture and embedded system requirements.
Select suitable microcontrollers, ADCs, communication interfaces, sensors, and peripheral components.
Define hardware specifications including PWM frequency, ADC sampling, CAN, SPI, UART, I2C, and safety interfaces.
Ensure seamless integration between hardware, firmware, and motor control software.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with motor design, embedded software, mechanical, and validation teams throughout product development.
Support prototype builds, engineering changes, root cause analysis, and continuous product improvement.
Prepare technical documentation including schematics, design calculations, validation reports, BOMs, and engineering change records.
Who Can Apply
3–6 years of experience in motor controller hardware, power electronics, or EV propulsion systems.
B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Power Electronics, Control Systems, or related disciplines.
Strong understanding of traction inverter design and motor controller hardware.
Experience designing power electronics circuits, gate drivers, sensing circuits, protection circuits, and embedded hardware.
Good knowledge of PMSM and BLDC motor drive systems.
Experience with schematic capture and PCB design review.
Hands-on experience in prototype bring-up, debugging, and hardware validation.
Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink for system modelling and analysis.
Experience working with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, electronic loads, and thermal measurement tools.
Good understanding of communication protocols including CAN, SPI, UART, and I2C.
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Good To Have
Experience with advanced PMSM control concepts such as MTPA, field weakening, regenerative braking, and IPMSM operation.
Exposure to EV powertrain architecture and vehicle integration.
Knowledge of EMI/EMC design practices and automotive hardware reliability.
Familiarity with ISO 26262, functional safety, and automotive development processes.
Experience with HIL testing or real-time simulation platforms.
Working knowledge of battery systems, BMS interfaces, and high-voltage safety.
Experience with Altium Designer, KiCad, or Cadence for schematic and PCB design.
MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or scripting for automation and analysis.
Understanding of Electric Machines, Motor Drives, Power Electronics, and Electrical Measurements.
