The Senior Engineer – Fire Protection Systems (FPS) Execution is responsible for the craft-led execution of all Fire Protection Systems for the assigned project, ensuring high standards of workmanship, quality, safety, statutory compliance, and system reliability.
The role provides technical and on-site leadership and owns the FPS scope through execution, testing, commissioning, and system stabilisation.
Scope of Responsibility
Craft execution of all Fire Protection System packages for the assigned project, including:Fire water networks (underground and above ground)Pump rooms, fire pumps, jockey pumps, and associated controlsSprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, and landing valve systemsFire detection and alarm system interfaces (execution coordination)Site-level technical authority for FPS worksExecution management of FPS contractors and vendors, strictly from:Workmanship and finishQuality of executionCraft disciplineSafety behaviour and complianceGuidance and supervision of FPS execution engineersExecution coordination with Electrical, PHE, HVAC, and civil worksOversight of testing, commissioning, mock drills, and system stabilisation to ensure reliable fire protection readiness
This is a pure execution role. There is no accountability for material procurement, manpower sourcing, machinery planning, commercial management, or contract administration.
Key Accountabilities
FPS Craft Execution
Execute all FPS works strictly as per approved GFC drawings, specifications, NBC norms, and execution methodologies.Ensure correct sequencing, installation practices, pressure ratings, zoning, and execution discipline across all FPS work fronts.
Execution Readiness & Constructability
Review issued FPS GFC drawings from an execution and constructability perspective.Ensure execution readiness by either clearing GFCs for execution or raising RFIs for clarifications required to proceed.Work closely with Planning & MEP Coordination and Design teams to prevent execution delays or compliance gaps.
Technical Oversight & Craftsmanship
Provide hands-on technical guidance to FPS engineers and contractor teams.Uphold high standards of workmanship, including pipe routing, supports, valve orientation, and system zoning.Resolve FPS execution-level technical issues decisively.
Testing, Commissioning & System Reliability
Ensure FPS systems are executed, pressure-tested, flow-tested, commissioned, and stabilised as per approved protocols.Coordinate mock drills and authority-required testing.Drive closure of commissioning observations and ensure system readiness for statutory inspections and Fire NOC.
Safety & Statutory Compliance Leadership
Demonstrate visible safety leadership and enforce safe work practices.Ensure strict compliance with fire safety norms, NBC, and local fire authority requirements.Maintain zero tolerance for unsafe or non-compliant execution.
Team & Contractor Performance
Guide, mentor, and review performance of FPS execution engineers.Set and enforce clear expectations on quality, craftsmanship, safety, and compliance for FPS contractors and vendors.

Percentage compliance with approved GFC drawings, specifications, and workmanship standardsPercentage reduction in leakages, pressure drops, defects, and reworkPercentage first-time-right execution rate for FPS systems
Safety & Compliance
Zero major safety or fire-safety non-compliance incidentsCompliance with safety audits, permits, and fire safety requirements
Commissioning & System Reliability
Timely completion of pressure testing, flow testing, and commissioning milestonesClosure of commissioning observations within agreed timelinesStable and reliable FPS performance during mock drills and testing
Contractor Performance

Requirements
Education
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical EngineeringFormal training or certification in Fire Protection Systems is an advantage
Experience
6–15 years of hands-on experience in Fire Protection Systems execution on large construction or real estate projectsProven experience leading site-based FPS execution teamsStrong exposure to testing, commissioning, mock drills, and Fire NOC processes
