Job Summary
The Employee Relations Manager leads employee relations strategy, case management, and policy interpretation in a global financial services environment. The role partners with HR, business leaders, and legal and compliance teams on sensitive workplace matters, including grievances, investigations, disciplinary actions, performance concerns, and organizational change.
This position helps maintain a fair, compliant, and high-integrity workplace culture by managing complex cases, advising leaders on risk, supporting consistent policy application, and strengthening manager capability in conflict resolution and people management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex employee relations matters across multiple jurisdictions, including grievances, misconduct allegations, disciplinary actions, performance concerns, retaliation issues, and other high-risk cases.
- Conduct and oversee workplace investigations, including interviews, evidence review, findings, recommendations, and related documentation.
- Coach managers and senior leaders on employee relations matters, conflict resolution, conduct issues, documentation, and policy application.
- Interpret employment policies, labor standards, and regulatory requirements to support fair, legally sound, and consistent decision-making.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Internal Audit, Security, and HR Business Partners on escalated matters involving misconduct, regulatory exposure, and culture concerns.
- Drive strong case management practices, confidentiality standards, policy development, trend analysis, training, and remediation planning to strengthen workplace culture and governance.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Law, Psychology, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with strong employee relations and workplace investigation expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex investigations, grievance processes, disciplinary matters, and policy interpretation in a large, matrixed organization.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and labor practices across one or more major jurisdictions.
- Financial services experience preferred, including familiarity with regulated environments and governance expectations.
