Position Summary
The Journeyman Level Electrician performs skilled electrical work across a range of residential and light commercial projects — new construction, renovation, tenant improvement, and maintenance. You'll work independently and alongside project leads, holding yourself to code, safety standards, and the quality Empire clients expect.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including wiring, panels, service cables, outlets, fixtures, switches, and circuit breakers in residential and light commercial settings
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical specifications
• All work meets NEC and applicable local codes
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and provide accurate diagnoses and efficient repairs
• Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and property management staff to meet project timelines
• Complete work orders accurately and communicate job status and material needs proactively
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment on every job site
Required education and experience
• Minimum 4 years of field experience in residential and/or commercial electrical work
• Solid working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and PA local amendments
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple concurrent assignments
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Physical ability to perform the demands of the role: lifting up to 50 lbs, working in confined spaces, climbing ladders, working at heights
