Role Description
We are seeking an Empanelment Freelance Consultant – Environment & Biodiversity for an on-site, full-time position based in Jammu & Kashmir (Field-Based / Remote Coordination) . The role involves preparing detailed reports, conducting environmental impact assessments, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and providing consulting services on environmental and biodiversity-related projects. The consultant will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and contribute to development planning and policy formulation.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct field studies and assist in biodiversity and ecological assessments across designated sites.
* Support in the preparation of environmental reports, ecological profiles, and biodiversity documentation.
* Collaborate with GIS and technical teams for mapping, spatial data interpretation, and thematic report integration.
* Coordinate with local stakeholders and government offices for obtaining secondary data and permissions, when required.
* Provide technical insights and recommendations related to flora, fauna, and ecosystem conservation.
* Ensure quality assurance and adherence to national environmental and biodiversity standards.
Eligibility Criteria / Qualifications
* Master’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Ecology, Wildlife Biology, Forestry, Botany, or related field.
* Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in environmental or biodiversity projects (fieldwork or research).
* Familiarity with ecological documentation, biodiversity inventories, and species identification.
* Knowledge of MoEF&CC guidelines and experience with Eco-Sensitive Zone / Protected Area work preferred.
* Ability to travel within Jammu & Kashmir for field assignments.
* Proficiency in report preparation, data analysis, and use of open-source mapping tools is an advantage.

* Freelance / Project-Based Assignment
* Duration and remuneration will be finalized based on the scope of work and experience of the consultant.
