Role Overview
APARC is inviting applications for Empanelment as Freelance Consultant – Environment & Biodiversity for assignments in Jammu & Kashmir.
This is a project-based consulting opportunity, where selected professionals will be onboarded to APARC’s expert panel and engaged as per upcoming project requirements. The role involves field-based work along with remote coordination, depending on project scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field surveys and support biodiversity and ecological assessments across project sites.
- Prepare environmental reports, ecological profiles, and biodiversity documentation.
- Collaborate with GIS and technical teams for spatial analysis and mapping integration.
- Coordinate with local stakeholders and government agencies for data collection and permissions.
- Provide expert inputs on flora, fauna, ecosystems, and conservation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental and biodiversity regulations and standards.
- Contribute to technical documentation aligned with project deliverables.
Eligibility Criteria
- Master’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Ecology, Wildlife Biology, Forestry, Botany, or related disciplines.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in environmental or biodiversity projects (fieldwork/research/consulting).
- Experience in biodiversity assessments, ecological documentation, and species identification.
- Familiarity with MoEF&CC guidelines; exposure to Eco-Sensitive Zones or Protected Areas is preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel within Jammu & Kashmir for field assignments.
- Proficiency in report writing, data analysis, and use of GIS/open-source mapping tools is an advantage.
Engagement Structure
- Empanelment as an independent consultant with APARC.
- Engagement will be project-specific, based on requirements and expertise alignment.
- Scope of work, timelines, and professional fees will be mutually agreed upon for each assignment.
